This is an interesting article about Baghdad, and Iraq in general as they await the national elections that may be a real turning point for the country. Of course the people are the ones that are caught in the people, the ordinary people that could have been anyone of us. The one thing that I really can’t understand is that given all of the money that the United States and its allies have spent in the country that they still have issues with basic infrastructure, I realise that there are major security issues, but if you want to rebuild a country, or just get the people on side, security and basic infrastructure are what are needed. Maybe even basic infrastructure more so, as with that, people will get on with their normal lives, of trying to make a living, trying to raise their children in the best environment that they can.
